aluminium properties

Why aluminium?

We have placed our trust in aluminium for more than 50 years for its excellent technical features and unmatched properties. Aluminium is a 100% recyclable material without loss of quality, which positions it as one of the key materials of the present and the future, to be used in building projects.

The unmatched advantages of aluminium make it an ideal material, giving optimal results thanks to its versatility, which enables it to adapt to each sector’s manufacturing and finishing requirements.

This metal is synonymous with long-term quality as it resists the passage of time with practically no wear, deformation or alteration caused by external agents. It requires little maintenance, so its durability is fully assured.

It is a sustainable material, since the manufacture of recycled aluminium billets employs only 5% of the energy used to produce primary aluminium and generates a small carbon footprint. Exlabesa’s commitment to sustainability and respect for the environment has led us to invest in recycling plants, producing recycled aluminium billets that will later be used to extrude new profiles, ultimately giving aluminium infinite lives.

Likewise, the metal’s quality-price ratio is superb, giving great performance at a very affordable cost. At the same time, the long lifetime of aluminium products makes them a safe investment as well as offering great economic savings.

We care about aluminium while caring for our planet

The Exlabesa Clean Planet initiative aims to improve the environment and develop a more sustainable production system reducing our footprint.

Exlabesa owns a state-of-the-art recycling plant that allows us to manufacture recycled aluminium billets which are later used to extrude new profiles, reducing significatly our footprint and energy consumption.

Exlabesa's recycled aluminium profiles generate a minimal environmental impact, making it a great option for all types of projects that have sustainability and respect for the environment as their main goal. Its CO2 footprint is 3.67 kg of CO2 per kilo of aluminium, which translates to 79.6% less than the world average for primary extraction, given that the global average is 18 kg CO2 per kg of aluminium produced.
